Avery Hoffer is a technical advisor with a strong foundation in civil engineering and a specialized focus on sustainable infrastructure. Avery completed both undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Toronto, earning a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) in Civil Engineering and a Master’s degree (MASc) in Sustainable Infrastructure.
His graduate research focuses on minimizing the embodied emissions of reinforced concrete high-rise residential buildings, finding that rather than concentrating on height, we should focus on building better, using thinner slabs and an increased level of design customization.
Driven by a commitment to climate-conscious engineering, Avery integrates sustainability principles into every stage of the built environment lifecycle. His work aims to advance low-carbon construction practices and promote resilient, future-ready infrastructure in dense urban settings.
